Dutfield’s Yard – Raw, Low Quality Render
Dutfield’s Yard
Here are some mock-ups of the Berner Street 3D model I’m working on at the moment. The intention once it’s finished is to create a video walk-thru sort of like someone holding a cine camera and walking from the corner of Berner Street (the cartwheel photo) right into Dutfield’s Yard. The silent ‘cine film’ will explore the yard as if the camera holder is walking around the scene (hopefully).
For now hereĀ is a mock-up shot. It shows the interior of Dutfield’s Yard from the exact camera angle as the newly discovered Phil Hutchingson Dutfield’s Yard Photo which I can’t show as a comparison as it is under copyright.
Berner St. 1909 Sun/Shadow Study
The 1909 photograph of Berner Street confuses some people when they first set eyes on it. I know it confused me. To me, and lots of other folk, that cartwheel looked to be attached to the wall of the taller building (the tall building beingĀ The International Workingmen’s Club). MJK1 Sun/Shadow Study
I wanted to attempt to discover the time of day that MJK1 (the external of Miller’s Court) was photographed. In the original photograph there is evidence of sunlight and shadows cast across various parts of the scene. We know (or at least we think we know) the date that MJK1 was taken – 9th November 1888. It was taken at some point during the day that Mary Kelly’s body was discovered in her room at number 13 Miller’s Court.
Miller’s Court 3D ‘Movie’
This is my first attempt at creating a 2D to 3D photo composite of no.13 Miller’s Court. It’s not AAA quality or design but I know I can make this better.
New Photos of No.13 Miller’s Court!
Here’s a video of some ‘newly discovered’ external photos of 13 Miller’s Court.
Miller’s Court
Below is the link to open up the Miller’s Court 3D walk through. In this scene you will arrive in Miller’s Court toward the top of the court next to the privies! You can walk around the entire external environment of Miller’s Court and walk part way up the entrance towards Dorset street with Crossingham’s Lodging House opposite. You can click and enter number 13 and explore the tiny room where Mary Kelly lived and died. A mannequin has been placed on the bed in the exact position of Mary’s body when she was discovered on November 9th 1888.
